Chelsea Knight is an artist working in video and performance. Her recent work looks at the ways social change can be approached through small gestures of intimacy. The work pursues narratives that exist outside of the mainstream mediascape, and include human relationships to memory, music, and screens. Solo exhibitions and screenings include: The New Museum (NY), The St. Louis Art Museum (MO); The Brooklyn Museum; The Julia Stoschek Collection (Dusseldorf) and DiverseWorks (Houston). Group shows include the Aichi Triennial in Nagoya (Japan); Nouvelles Vagues at the Palais de Tokyo (Paris) and Anti-Establishment at Bard CCS Hessel Museum (NY). Knight was a 2018 resident at the MacDowell Colony (New Hampshire) and a 2021 resident at Storm King Sculpture Park (New Windsor, NY). Knight recently moved from NYC to Vermont, where she runs a postproduction video house, Unseen Video, and a media nonprofit, Media Hour.
